Just For The Fun Of It: Finger Painting

This is another one of those things we wanted to share with you just for the fun of it.

This is not what most people think of when they hear the words “finger painting” since that phrase usually conjures up a mental image of somebody using their fingers instead of a brush. Many of us have distant memories of the finger painting we did in preschool or kindergarten.

The “Handimals” seen below are the creation of Italian artist Guido Daniele. He applies paint to his fingers and holds his fingers in certain ways to get a realistic shape for whatever he is depicting. Then, he photographs the creation.

It can take him four hours (or longer) to create a handimal on one hand. It took him ten hours to do the eagle on two hands.

When people see this, they have comments such as “This is awesome” or “This is truly incredible!”

Wow… the eyes and other details are remarkably lifelike on many of his handimals!

Guido Daniele does other types of art, including murals and body painting. He has a website that shows examples of all of his work.

Here’s a link that goes to the page that features his handimals.
