Feel Good About Life And Yourself With Conscious Living

feel good about life, feel good about yourself, conscious living,Is your life everything you want it to be?

If it really isn’t, you might be open to a few ideas. These tips can help you feel good about life and yourself.

Whether it’s making better choices about certain things or totally changing the direction in which your life is headed, having the desire to change is your first step.

Keep in mind that it’s never too late to do something that helps you get more out of life.

The title of this message mentions conscious living,
but what is conscious living?

It’s all about being aware of your actions and behavior and staying connected to your thoughts and feelings. Then, you can make choices that are in sync with the kind of life you would like to have.

This Situation Is An Example Of Conscious Living:

You decide to stay away from white bread and soda pop as part of your healthier eating habits.

  • You like that decision, but later that day, you want a soda pop. Rather than grabbing a soda pop as you did before, you now reach for a juice drink, tea or water to quench your thirst.
  • You no longer buy white bread or soda pop. Also, if you have any white bread left at home, you can feed it to ducks or pigeons.

You make a decision about something and then behave in a way that allows you to remain true to that decision. That’s exactly what conscious living is all about.

Here’s a quote by Rosa Samuels that fits this topic…
“Live a life OF purpose ON purpose!”

These 7 ideas about conscious living show you how to feel good about life and yourself.

1. Take It One Step At A Time

Create the life you want one step at a time because too many changes too quickly might be overwhelming and that can actually cause you to go backward instead of forward. There’s an old saying, which states “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

  • Spend time exploring what you already love about your life. Also, give serious consideration to whatever you’d like to change.
  • Then, create a plan related to which deliberate action(s) you will take to create the life you desire.

2. Be Flexible

If you ever disagree with someone, take time to consider the other person’s point of view. You still might not agree with them, but you can better understand their position.

  • Give yourself permission to change your mind.

3. Live In The Present Moment

You might have heard this expression before. But what does it really mean to live in the present moment? Consider this example:

  • When you visit with another person, think about them and enjoy your conversation and activities together. Avoid making your shopping list mentally or trying to recall what else you have to do that day. Just stay in the present moment with your friend or relative and focus on what the two of you are doing.

4. Know Yourself

Being aware of your likes and dislikes is an important part of conscious living.

  • Understand what’s important to you, and why. Discover what makes you tick, what drives you, and what you find inspiring.
  • Self-understanding is an integral part of living life consciously because if you know your preferences and motivations, you can then create circumstances that will enable you to accomplish your goals.

5. Live Your Own Truth

For many of us, as teenagers, we often went along with the crowd just to fit in or to avoid being called a ______ (fill in the blank with the popular term of your generation).

However, later on we may have realized that we really didn’t have that much in common with some of the people in the crowd nor did we always share the same deep-down beliefs.

Hopefully, as adults, we can make choices and move in a direction that is true to our beliefs.

  • When you live your own truth, you stay faithful to whatever is genuinely important to you.

6. Learn To Let Go Of Negative Thoughts Or Feelings

Learning to let go of negativity and situations we can’t control might take a bit of effort, but it’s a crucial part of being able to get more out of life.

  • Conserve your emotional energy and use it in a positive way for what you can actually change: yourself and your own life. Now that’s conscious living!

7. Take Action

Having goals is important, but taking the necessary steps to reach the goals you’ve set for yourself is where the rubber meets the road. For many people, the time and effort to reach their goals is a labor of love.

  • Make decisions that are in your own best interest and stick to the plan.

Living consciously by making decisions and taking action is an on-going process. Applying any or all of the above ideas can get you started on the path to living the life you really want!

Conscious living helps you get more out of life.
Now, don’t you deserve to feel good about life and yourself?
